I’ll eventually fill and update this page with photos and some interesting info about me. If you have any questions please go ahead and ask in the comments section. In the meantime I’d like to introduce myself.

My name is Joanna and I live in my very first condo in the suburbs of Chicago. I’m 30-years old. I’m a graphic designer by day. I went to school for Fine Art, so if there is something creative or artsy to do I’m your girl.

Fitness and Nutrition have been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started this blog when I began a 40-day challenge to take my exercise and eating to a new level. I created five new habits that I would do daily. The first 40 days of posts are all part of that challenge. While going thorugh this challenge I realized something, that this isn’t a challenge, it’s a way of life.

This blog is about conscious living. It’s about noticing where in life I’ve been in the passenger seat and taking the wheel. I have become conscious about the food I eat and why, about the exercise that I do and the way I even create waste and care for the environment. The focal point of this blog is nutrition, but you’ll see as you read my posts there’s much more that I share about. I hope that this blog makes you think and take an action or two. 😉

Enjoy, and thank you for reading.

Yo! I wish we could comment on individual posts on here – what do you think? Also, it’s super helpful to pull this through to your Facebook, that’s actually how I found the link b/c I’d misplaced the link. Anyway – what drove me to come to your blog today was that I was thinking about stories – the ones we tell each other. I think your project is a lot about addressing that and changing it. I have stories: I’m tired, I can’t do it . . . and it’s really hard to change because I’m busy being a martyr and I don’t know what I’d do with myself if I weren’t struggling! Anyway. . . so what stories did you get over to do the things you’re writing about? Not suggesting that you make the blog too Landmark-y sounding because people won’t be able to relate and might be turned off, but just curious. I think you could inspire the rest of us to get over our stuff

Hey, thanks for seeking out the blog. 🙂 I will eventually get a new template where it’s easier to post comments. If you have any tips I am open to ideas.

I am not a super human, a big chunk of why I can do what I do and stay on the wagon is this blog. I am accountable to the readers on here. It’s like I make a promise to you guys and that helps me do what I said. But I can definitely elaborate on that.

I think that’s a great idea. I argue with myself everyday. And everyday I say yes to training makes the ‘don’t go, don’t do it” voices quieter. There are still days when it’s even a struggle for me.

Oh and what are you struggling with? Do you talk yourself out of working out or eating the way you know you want to?
