15k Hot Chocolate Run and Things to Come

24 Aug

I just registered for the Hot Chocolate 15k. I’m really nervous! The longest I have ever run in my life is 10k. I have no idea how I’m going to do this. Actually that’s not entirely true, I know exactly how I’m going to do this. I’m going to take it day by day and train from now until the run.

Luckily I have two wonderful office mates that are running too. We just scheduled a group run on Wednesdays. A commitment to run the longest race of my life and a running group created and scheduled all in one day! That’s awesome considering I was going to be putting off signing up for this race for at least a few more weeks.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve really missed having daily actions. It was such a great way to ensure that I accomplish everything I want. I really love the structure of having a checklist to check into everyday. So here are my new actions. As with the first challenge I will be posting a shortlist about what I did and didn’t do every time I post at the bottom of the post.

The daily actions I will be taking from now until November 6 are:
• Logging my food intake everyday
• Doing my workouts and logging them everyday
• Getting 7-8 hours of sleep per night
• Ask at least one person per day one of two questions:
What are your dreams? What do you like about your life? What are you grateful for?

In addition to the daily actions I will take some other miscellaneous actions:
• Host a ‘Clean’ dinner party at my home once a month
• Get a Sub Max test
• Clean two closets
• Paint bedroom walls

Things to come this week
Later  this week be on the lookout for some posts on how having a clean home has an impact on fitness, the (now overdue) second installment of Foam Rolling and an update of week 1 of training and of course the weekly breakfast burrito.
